ZLV at Fachpack 2025

In cooperation with our member NürnbergMesse - Fachpack, ZLV shaped and moderated part of the lecture program of Packbox on September 23, 2025.

Prof. Dr. Christine Borsum (KLEVERTEC/Kempten University of Applied Sciences) opened the session with a presentation on “Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Packaging.” Dr. Stefan Schiessl (Fraunhofer IVV) presented his research findings on “Flexural Resistance of Barrier Layers – Why Barrier Values Can Be Misleading” to the interested professional audience. Dr. Somchith Erasmus (Fraunhofer ISC) discussed the results of our MoBiLe research project under the title “Recyclable Monomaterial Barrier Films for Food.” The ZLV session concluded with a talk by Lothar Bödingmeier (CRC GmbH) on the topic “Mandatory Use of Recyclates from 2030 – and Is the Industry Stuck?” including the use of certification solutions also in mechanical recycling.

On Thursday, September 24, 2025, another ZLV session followed at the Powtech Forum with presentations on process technologies in food manufacturing. Dr. Frank Babick (TU Dresden) spoke about the dusting behavior of shear-sensitive powders. Felix-Alexander Katz (KLEVERTEC/Kempten University of Applied Sciences) presented the results from the ZIM project “Injector-Free Incorporation of Liquid Spices in Ham Production.” Dr. Christoph Habel (Biofibre GmbH) introduced “Smart Materials. Smart Filtration – With Future-Oriented Plastics” to the professional audience. Dr. Hans-Jochim Jacob (Systral GmbH) closed the ZLV session with a look into “Powder Dispersion of the Future in Food Manufacturing.”

On the third day of Fachpack, ZLV Managing Director Thomas Lux answered questions from Matthias Laux (Packaging Journal) on the key theme “Smart, Safe, Sustainable – What Does the Future of Food Packaging Look Like?” The interview can be found on the Packaging Journal’s website.
