Millimetre wave imaging makes the invisible visible

Millimetre wave imaging not only makes air traffic safer, but also enables autonomous driving with concealed radar sensors. As the electromagnetic waves used can penetrate conventional packaging materials (e.g. plastics and cardboard), there are also numerous other potential fields of application in the food and pharmaceutical industries. For example, packaged items can be checked for completeness, sealed edges for inclusions and packaging for trapped foreign bodies. The frequency range of millimetre waves opens up new possibilities for quality inspection and assurance. In contrast to X-rays, millimetre wave imaging offers a process that is harmless to health thanks to the use of non-ionising radiation.
