Kempten University of Applied Sciences sees itself as the university of the region. The approximately 6000 students are offered a wide range of study options in business and technical fields, including the Food and Packaging Technology degree programme. This process engineering degree programme imparts knowledge from process engineering combined with skills from the food sector of packaging technology and - increasingly important - the consideration of the necessary resource efficiency and sustainability. Approximately 50 students are accepted onto each degree programme each year. In the 5th semester, students have the opportunity to complete an internship semester, which is generally carried out in companies. The degree programmes conclude after the 7th semester with the title Bachelor of Engineering.
