General Terms
General Terms and Conditions for Events
General Terms and Conditions for Events of the Zentrum für Lebensmittel- und Verpackungstechnologie e.V. (hereinafter referred to as ZLV)
As of 21 January 2026
1. Scope of application
The following General Terms and Conditions govern the contractual relationship between clients, participants in seminars, web seminars, workshops and conferences - including online - and the ZLV. Deviating general terms and conditions of the client/participant are not valid.
2. Registration/confirmation of registration
Registration for events can be made online, by letter, fax, e-mail or telephone. Participants will receive confirmation by e-mail in advance with organisational information. The written confirmation from the ZLV makes the registration binding. The written confirmation of registration, including invoice and additional information such as a booking form for a hotel room reservation, will be sent before the date of the event.
3. Limited number of participants
The number of participants per event is limited. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they arrive. In the case of fully booked events, a waiting list will be set up, which will also be considered in the order of arrival in the event that a place becomes available.
4. Terms of payment/participants
The participation fee plus VAT is payable net after receipt of the invoice, at the latest within 14 days. If participants are in default of payment, a reminder fee will be charged.
5. Services
The event fee includes the costs for the event, event documents and catering/drinks during the day of the event, including dinner in the case of two-day events, unless otherwise specified in the seminar description. Parking fees, drinks at the hotel bar or minibar and accommodation costs are not included.
Online offers do not include services such as lunch or snacks.
6. Cancellation/rebooking
In the event of cancellation, it is possible to provide a replacement participant at no additional cost. Otherwise, the ZLV will issue a voucher per event day, which can be redeemed for any event within two years (value = one event day) and is transferable within the company. If no cancellation is received by the evening before, 50% of the invoice amount is due. The cancellation must be made in writing and will be confirmed by ZLV.
Vouchers cannot be redeemed for online offers.
7. Lecture documents/certificate
Participants will receive documents with the speakers' presentations (digital or physical). After the event, they may receive access to download the presentations released by the speakers in a protected area. To log in to the login area, they will receive personal access data with which they can log in.
In the case of seminars, a certificate is provided at the end of the event.
The documents are personal and may not be passed on. They are only ever licensed for the respective participants. Copies of the event documents may not be made or passed on. In the case of online events, the stream or web conference may not be shared with other persons (e.g. via beamer).
8. Cancellation of the event
The ZLV reserves the right to cancel an event - e.g. if speakers are unable to attend, due to a lack of participants or force majeure. The ZLV will inform participants in good time (at least 24 hours in advance) of any cancellation or necessary changes to the programme. If an event is cancelled, any fees already paid will be refunded or a voucher will be issued on request (see above). Further claims, in particular for damages (e.g. compensation for travel or accommodation costs) are excluded. If the tour is marked as guaranteed on the Internet, this only means that the minimum number of participants has been reached. All of the above remains unaffected.
9. Limitation of liability of the organiser
The ZLV is not liable for loss of or damage to items brought to events. Please do not leave any valuables or important materials in the event room during breaks.
The ZLV is not liable for damage caused by participants to the property of third parties. Liability for personal injury is also excluded. Liability for damage caused by the course content is excluded.
10. Changes to the event programme
In exceptional cases, we reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the event programme, the date of the event, the speakers or the venue.
11. Copyrights
The seminar, workshop, web seminar or conference documents and all online/e-learning content (instant web seminars, video courses, online training etc.) provided as part of ZLV events are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced or used commercially - even in part - without the express written consent of ZLV and the respective speakers. Any distribution is prohibited.
12. Data protection
As the organiser, the ZLV processes the personal data of participants in accordance with the privacy policy at www.zlv.de and the GDPR. The purposes of processing include registration, confirmation of participation, invoicing, access to documents and forwarding relevant information on future events.
For online events, technical data such as IP address and login times are logged to prevent misuse. Participants receive access data exclusively for personal use.
Consumers acting as parties to distance contracts (e.g. online seminars) have a right of cancellation in accordance with Section 355 BGB. The cancellation period is 14 days from receipt of the registration confirmation. To exercise this right, a written declaration (e.g. by e-mail toinfo@zlv.de) is sufficient. In the event of effective cancellation, any fees already paid will be refunded within 14 days.
Objections to advertising by e-mail can be made at any time via the unsubscribe link or to info@zlv.de.
13. Place of jurisdiction
The place of jurisdiction is Kempten (Allgäu), as far as legally permissible.
14. Severability clause
Should a provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
